Weekly Volunteer Opportunities From HandsOn Twin Cities ...

After School Tutoring and Mentoring: Urban Battle?s Tutoring/Mentoring Program (St. Paul) needs volunteers to help children grades 1-12 with homework skills in reading, math, science and technology. Monday and Tuesday p.m.

Alternative High School Tech Support: Project for Pride in Living is looking for someone to provide IT knowledge and support 2-4 hours/week for Education staff at the PPL Loring Nicollet Community Center. Commitment is 2-4 hours/week, including a weekly Engagement Team meeting on Fridays from 10:00 -11:00 am.
MS Youth Camp Counselor: The MS Society needs volunteers to serve as Youth Camp Counselors this June in Amery, WI. The camp is for youth 9-17 that live with a parent or close relative who has MS. Opportunities for full-week or single day. Must be over 18 and able to participate in active recreation programs.

Arts Mentor: Volunteers needed at Free Arts Minnesota to bring the healing powers of artistic expression into the lives of abused, neglected and at-risk children and their families.?? Serve on a team with 3 to 5 other mentors.? Year round at locations in the Twin Cities.? Mentors provide one hour per week of creative arts activities to children. Training, supplies and ongoing support provided.

Coaches Needed ? Tennis, Track, Baseball, Softball: The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board seeks volunteers to serve as coaches for youth sports ? tennis, track & field, baseball and softball. Must be able to commit to the full 12-week season.

Volunteer with Junior Achievement: Junior Achievement strives to provide innovation, fundamental learning opportunities,? preparing all students grade K-12 for a lifetime of success.?? Volunteers will help the students understand financial literacy, entrepreneurship and career readiness skills.? No matter what your profession your time and talent is needed within the classroom. Opportunities all across Minnesota.


Adult Reading, Writing and GED Tutor: Volunteers are needed to work with adults to help them reach their educational goals. The Minnesota Literacy Council helps? adults master reading, writing or content-related skills. No previous teaching experience is necessary. The suggested time commitment is 1-3 hours once a week, with morning, afternoon and evening opportunities available. Locations are throughout the Twin Cities.

Saint Patrick?s Day Celebration: The Irish Music and Dance Association needs volunteers to help with Saint Patrick?s Day Celebration at Landmark Center in St. Paul. The event features music, dance and other activities. Volunteer tasks include taking admissions, checking wristbands, staffing the tea room and performance areas, and a variety of other tasks.? Two or four hour shifts.

Program Assistant ? Saturdays at Spectrum: Work at RESOURCE and assist members that have a serious mental illness to socialize and participate in recreational activities with their peers. They need volunteers in Bloomington every other Saturday playing games, pool, conversation, art, exercise and more.? Commitment is one Saturday per month for six months.
General Construction/Home Repair Volunteer : Construction Volunteers are essential for helping Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity achieve its mission. Construction experience is useful, but a willingness to pitch in is the only requirement. For safety reasons, children under the age of 16 are not allowed on site. Youth ages 16?17 are required to have one adult (21 years of age or older) for up to four youth. Construction Volunteers must volunteer on site for an entire workday (8:30 a.m.?4:00 p.m.).
