Director of Human Resources - HigherEdJobs

Unity College is seeking a dynamic, execution-oriented Director of Human Resources to manage the entire spectrum of human resources
responsibilities for the college. In partnership with our leadership team, will define the strategic and tactical HR initiatives focused on
achieving college objectives.

The seasoned professional will provide leadership and oversight in the areas of staff and faculty recruitment and employment; compensation and benefits administration; training and development; supervisory coaching; employee relations; recognition; performance management; personnel records; regulatory compliance; department budget management; and workplace health, safety and wellness. Will also administer personnel policies and lead efforts in cultivating a diverse and inclusive work environment and in compliance of equal employment laws. Will direct human resources functions in accordance with federal, state and local laws and regulations. Acts as an advisor for the management team and employees.

Successful candidates will have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field and at least 3-5 years of HR work experience. Certification in Human Resources Management (PHR or SPHR) preferred; experience in a college or university setting a plus.

  • Strong communication skills in collaborating and influencing a variety of constituents including other college leaders, faculty, staff, contractors, and vendors
  • Ability to advocate for the college and employees, while balancing both needs successfully
  • Ability to manage and resolve complex employee issues and to conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations
  • Proficient in use of word processing, spreadsheets, computerized databases
WORK SCHEDULE/AVAILABILITY REQUIREMENTS: Regular, full-time, calendar-year position. Primarily weekdays with flexibility to work evenings and weekends when necessary.
